Enterprise Week

The two events I chose to participate in are 5% idea, 95% effort and, how to create a business in the sporting landscape. The two events both provided a great outline of business and how reality takes affect in the real world. In the 5% idea 95% effort event a young entrepreneur talked about how his idea of 'letter box chocs,' became a great business success which made him into the millionaire he is today. Furthermore he talked about how the ups and downs of business was a result in the effort and eagerness he put into his idea as an individual, and it was this that made him a success in the end.The business was launched properly in February 2009 and his product is now localised around the world, and has reached countries such as America, Australia, Japan, the Middle East and more. He states that the business he has made up only sells through distribution. In conclusion to the event the entrepreneur states that his job is not the easiest but the rewards are worthwhile.

The event of how to create a business in the sporting landscape, a young entrepreneur again called Jonathan Wilson, who is the manager director of a company called 110% marketing, became successful via starting off on a graduate management 18 month programme at the FA. He gained an insight to the business as he worked across all departments. The different jobs he was involved in were as follows:
Marketing manager for FA learning
Managing director 110% marketing
Head of business development ISPAL
careers in sport and leisure
Part of Sportgrads

Overall he became a young entrepreneur and set up a business after finding the FA could not provide him with no more he wanted to gain in life, Wilson explained it was not an easy task to set up his business of 110% that is based in Wokingham in Oakland's business park and took 4 months to find just the name of his business. The business is a creative/commercial marketing agency. that participates in event management, website design, direct sales and alot more.
HE states to succeed entrepreneurial skills an individual needs to be experienced, prepared have a vision, present a positive attitude to hard work, a willingness to learn on the job and have a good contact book.

In conclusion the events provided me with a in depth knowledge of how being a entrepreneur provides good rewards but only if a vast amount of effort, dedication and a good attitude is present within an individuals way of about things. These events have not influence my career aspirations but has given me an insight of how the business world works and what they are looking for in an individual in order to run their business and make things work.
