Leadership-Week 5
The differences between management and leadership, is that managers tend to plan, control, co-ordinate, implement policy and achieve results. Leaders motivate, generate ideas, and organise things.
The managerial grid, developed by Blake and Mouton. shows a comparison in managerial styles using two principles; concern for people involves the emphasis that the manager gives to colleagues supporting their needs, expectations, and wants. THis is represented on the managerial grid along the vertical axis. The other principle is the concern for production that evolves around the amount of emphasis the manager organises themselves and prioritises the tasks completed achieveing high level results ending in profits. This is represented on the managerial grid along the horizontal axis.

The managerial/leadership grid
The grid is presented as a normal 9x9 grid determin on what kind of manager the individual is is recorded and
represented on the grid as follows. Manager with the grid markings of (1,1 rating) are believed to be involved in theird business with the minimum movement involving their presnt postion in the business. Managers that persue a rating of a(9,9 rating) are seen to be the sort of individuals that believe in getting the tasks done whilst taking on board the concern for people, satisfying both principles. This is a rough idea of how the grid works and how it analyses people and their efforts, by using Blake and Moutons graph.
An example of a Leader
I believe that Mothere Theresa was a strong cultural leader and role model, she was a graciously religious figure and helped several people in India, She continued to look after the poor and ill throughout her life, and in 1979 won the noble peace prize and after a continous life of helping other later died in 1997.
In conclusion to leadership, after looking and identifying how Blake and Mouton's grid analyses how people can be analysed through their leadership styles, I can see that individuals will differ in their styles of how they lead people. Moreover I have found out in this topic that there is more than one type of leader, there are cultural, business, and world leaders present in our lives. In addition everyday there are new leaders being added to our lists.

A good effort but you need to give a little more depth especially in terms of the theory base to link your personal accounts too. You have done the bare minimum, you need to expand and show your knowledge and understanding. Include a bibliography and reference throughout.
