  • Referring to monster.co.uk's website the use of colour imagery and the quick search enables you to search within your area. The site is very easy and accessible moreover the layout of the site is clear and easy to understand.

five advantages and five drawbacks of on-line recruitment...

Advantages
  1. Quick and easily accessible
  2. Easy to search within a post code of your choice
  3. You can choose from a list of companies you want to apply for
  4. Quick way to find out what the company is actually looking for and part time/full time is stated.
  5. You can choose whether to find a job that evolves around training to enhance skills.

Disadvantages

  1. The people the recruitment area can not gain alot of information from a person up until the point of interview.
  2. The recruitment process is an expensive process, therefore companies need to be selective in who they choose from the site.
  3. Incorrect details and qualifications can be put on a CV then forwarded to the company.
  4. The online applicant may not know a company enough to make a judgment of whether it is a good company to work for or not.
  5. Costs to post a profile of a company and its details may occur.
  • A recruitment process that interested me was Microsoft's thorough recruitment process starting with assessing a applicants written application and this is then short listed with a telephone interview. Once the candidates are selected from the telephone interviews applicants are asked to come in and are introduced to the company and then interviewed on camera by recruitment consultants. A CD is produced of the interviews work and test results of the applicants details. These are then presented to a Microsoft team and the decision of who is to be picked is made.

  • a psychological contract has been defined as the perceptions of two parties, employee and employer, of what their mutual obligations are towards each other.
